Fairy Door Hunt

Running for the duration of the School Holidays

The KWIC Town Fairy Door Hunt starts on Thursday 28th and will continue right through the school holidays, ending August 14th.

Buy your entry form for £1 at the Fun Junction toy shop on Crieff High Street. The doors have been decorated by various local kids clubs, kids organisations and child care business’. With one entry from the ‘young at heart’.

The entry form lists all the shop names that hold a fairy door in their window. You must write down the name of the group/school etc that decorated the door (their name will be clearly visible on the door or displayed on a card next to the door).

Return your entry form back to the Fun Junction by the end of the school holidays (14th August) to be included in a prize draw (the shop closes at 5pm). GOOD LUCK 🧚🏼‍♂️🚪

KWIC FAIRY TRAIL and PETER RABBIT TRAIL

ALL WEEK LONG!!!!

Enjoy our community effort. Colourful and calming. Bring a picnic and tell Grandad he’ll need his flask! Spot the characters of the Peter Rabbit stories and name them.

Then move on to our fairy trail and see if you can set eyes on the Morgan’s Wood fairies.

Free to attend. An intergenerational activity with plenty to ignite the imagination.

The Peter Rabbit trail is buggy and wheelchair friendly.

The Fairy Trail can be viewed from the pathway but the trail route is off of the path which may not be as easy for a wheelchair.

Morgan’s Wood, sharing the grounds of MacRosty/Taylor/Mungal park

An overflow car park will be set up adjacent to MacRosty car park on Gala Day (15th) and on ‘Mash Up In MacRosty’ (17th)

From here cross the footbridge and follow the signs.

Brass Central Band Taster Session Sunday (Part of Gala Day)

Brass Central Brass band will be in the parade, performing on the bandstand and also hosting a taster session for any kids that would like to have a go on the brass instruments available on the day.

The band will have a clearly marked gazebo within the Gala itself

Home-made Fancy Dress Competition (Part of Gala Day)

Get stuck in to crafting your fancy dress at home.

What can you use to give you the winning edge for our Gala Day competition?

Join our parade and then meet the judge at the bandstand. Winner will be called out shortly after the parade.

There will be Winner and runners up prizes.

Adults are more than welcome to join too as this competition is open to all ages. (Plus entry is free so you’ve no excuse for not entering!).

When is it?

Sunday 15th July 2018 Kids clubs and families meet at 11:30am at The Pavilion Cafe. The Kids Club Parade starts at 11:45am and leads to the bandstand. Walk down with the parade and show off your home-made wonders.

Where is it?

We recommend getting along to the Pavilion Cafe in MacRosty park at 11:30.

How do I get there?

On foot: Just follow Comrie Road and enter MacRosty Park through the first set of gates. The Pavilion Cafe is the wooden structure down the slope.

Driving: Parking is down the hill in the lower part of the park (Sat nav MacRosty Pk/Taylor Park, PH7 4LJ). The car park is reached via Milnab Street through to Turretbank Road. An overflow car park will be set up adjacent to MacRosty car park as well.

From here you’ll need to head through the park and follow signs to the Pavilion Cafe.

Join our parade from The Pavilion Cafe in costume and then meet the judge at the bandstand. The winner will be called out shortly after the parade.

Who Can Go?

Any age. This is a fun family event that we hope you will enjoy.

How much does it cost?

It’s free to enter. Just make your own costume and turn up on the day.

Fairy Door decorating Competition: Winner Announcements (at Gala Day)

To help raise funds for KWIC we are running a very crafty competition. Fairy Doors can be bought at The Pavilion Cafe in MacRosty Park and also at Fun Junction on Crieff High Street

They are £4, and all money goes to supporting Kids Week. They are available in both venues right now (so no need to wait till the day, you could spend weeks on your entry if you like).

Take the door home to decorate and bring it back by 2pm on Gala Day to be judged in our competition.

When is it?

  • Winners Announced at 3.30pm

Entries will be displayed near the bandstand in MacRosty Park and winner announcements will be made from the bandstand.

  • Adult and business (yep businesses can feel free to enter a door too)

Last year the youngest entrant was 9 months and our eldest entrant was 98 years young!

KWIC Gala Day (A community Gala Organised by KWIC)

The Gala Day is our big opening event. Suitable for the whole family. There will be an enormous amount to do:

Kids clubs and families meet at 11:30am at The Pavilion Cafe. The Kids Club Parade starts at 11:45am and leads to the bandstand.

Gala Day officially opens at 12 noon and will include various competitions, a Fairy Trail, a Peter Rabbit Trail, Live Music, Bouncies, tots ball-pit, kiddie show rides, Adventure Circus, dance performers, Brass Central Band performance (and a taster session!), the Wester Pickston Miniature Railway, Stalls of trade and craft, plus much more (including sale of tickets for KWIC Family Ceilidh later in the week.

When is it?

All of this takes place on Sunday 15th July from 11.30am till 4:00pm (11:30-16:00)

MacRosty Park, Taylor Park, and Morgan’s Wood. A group of adjacent parks in Crieff which now typically all come under the name of MacRosty Park
